The Climate Friendly Veggie Food campaign offers practical tools for increasing the availability of climate-friendly, plant-based food in mass catering. These tools are intended for food services and their customers as well as policymakers. Our website has 30 sustainable plant-based main course recipes that have been designed specifically for mass catering services. The recipes are nutritionally balanced and include per-portion carbon footprint estimates. In addition to the recipes, we also provide campaigning materials (in Finnish), events, presentations and staff training as well as a report (in Finnish) outlining the development process of our recipes and research on changing food cultures. The aim of the campaign is to make it easier for food services to offer their customers climate-friendly, plant-based food every day.

Climate Friendly Veggie Food is a joint campaign of Friends of the Earth Finland and Vegaanihaaste (Vegan Challenge) and is mainly run by volunteers. From 2018 to 2022 the campaign was part of the “Climate Sustainability in the Kitchen - Everyday Food Cultures in Transition” project at the University of Helsinki, which was funded by the Kone Foundation.
